Before ever putting pen to paper as a designer, I built homes. I swung hammers, set forms, framed structures, and coordinated with subcontractors in Central Washington's unpredictable mountain weather. That builder's background shapes every design I produce today. I know what constitutes a good drawing set and what details are often missed. I know where costs spiral if a plan isn't thought out carefully. And I know how a building has to perform here. Under four feet of snow on a roof, on a steep hillside above Cle Elum, on a rural parcel where the nearest supply yard is thirty minutes away.
I founded Henrichsen Design, LLC in 2008 after spending over a decade building homes. The firm has always been deliberately small. You work with me, not a junior draftsman or a project manager you'll never meet. Every project gets my full attention, from the first conversation about your site to the day I hand you permit-ready drawings.
What I design: Custom homes, ADUs, remodels and additions, light commercial projects, and flood or fire repair work throughout Kittitas County: Cle Elum, South Cle Elum, Roslyn, Ellensburg, Suncadia, Tumble Creek, and the rural areas in between.
How I work: I use 3D design software from the start, so you see your project in full before anything gets submitted to the county. That virtual walkthrough has saved more than a few clients from a decision they would have later regretted. Once the design is finalized, I take it all the way through to structural drawings, engineering coordination and permit-set preparation, so your builder can break ground without surprises.
Why Kittitas County: Because I live here. I know the county's building department, the permit process, the contractors worth calling, and the quirks of building in high-elevation terrain. I've watched this valley grow and change, and I'm honored to have the responsibility of adding to it thoughtfully.
